Here are the final images for finishing the figurative vessels. I cut away the excess clay on the top half of the figure. Score and Slip the two halves. Pinch them together. I paddle the seam to make sure the two halves are well joined and to shape the top into the desired form. Next, I shave away the excess clay. Then, smooth the form with a soft rubber rib. Pitcher and TumblersThe last month and a half have been very busy for me with teaching, filling orders for galleries, and making work for my holiday pottery sale. Here are some of my latest glaze tests.These are my favorites out of the bunch. I found a nice glossy interior base glaze that doesn't seem to craze (spidery cracks on the surface of the glaze). I also tested a satin matte base glaze, one with black stain and one with titanium for white. They are pretty close to the colors I want but still need a little work.

I did a little riding this week on Siouxan Trail. Here's a picture of me and my little dog Trait coming around a switchback. If you look close enough you can see his leash catching on my back tire causing him to get all tangled up in my gears. What a mess.
