
Next I shape the bottom half of the figure to give it more volume.

Profile Picture. After shaping, I twist the the top half to give the figure more movement and push the shoulders back to add a curve in the back.

Next, I trace the foot and cut it out.

Then score and slip and attach the foot.

Here I'm patting the clay into place to make sure the seams are well joined.

Finally, I smooth the seams together.

The figure is then left upside down with the bottom half uncovered for an hour to let it dry to a leatherhard stage.
